Main Street in Motion, November 1920
This charming panoramic view of Main Street in downtown Buffalo clearly was taken from the steps of the old Library building at Lafayette Square. Streetcars, early vehicles and people in motion give a dynamic sense of a busy city center as it was on November 4, 1920 when this photo was taken. But notice what’s missing in the distance down Court Street? City Hall wasn’t completed until 1931.
