Shades of pink are featured in Roseate Spoonbill, a classic print from Birds of America, published 1827-1838. Naturalist and painter John James Audubon (1785-1851) traveled thousands of miles over many years to seek out and draw these highly detailed specimens in their natural habitats. These gorgeous illustrations were published by the author as a limited edition subscription series of 435 plates. The Library, in 1931, was given one of only 120 complete four-volume sets in existence today.
